AS UPB exhibition gallery at 19, Dzintara Street, Liepāja, is hosting Ivars Heinrihsons’ exhibition from 14 May until 18 June. The painter is a member of the Artists’ Union of Latvia, a member of UBC (a group of creative ideas, which holds exhibitions and events in Estonia and in neighbouring countries), a professor of the Arts Academy of Latvia. Major motives in art: ballet, horses, piano. Most often used form of expression: linear expression, achromatic colour palette - black. In addition to painting, he is also engaged in graphics, drawing and 3-dimensional expression. The total of 15 one-man exhibitions were held, including the following ones: „Taming of Shape: Horses in Aldara Street” - at the Māksla XO gallery, Rīga (2005); „Ivars Heinrihsons: An exhibition at the museum” - at the Latvia State Art museum (2001); „Ivars Heinrihsons in Tallinn - Race”- Linna Gallery, Tallinn (1996). Paintings by him are on display in public collections in Latvia and abroad: The European Reconstruction and Development Bank - in London, Frīdmans Štokarts’ collection in Munich, The Tretyakov Gallery - in Moscow, Norton un Nancy Dodges’ collection in New Jersey; The National Arts Museum of Latvia, The Museum Arts’ Union of Latvia, the bank Hansabanka in Riga. Private collections in Latvia, Italy, USA, Finland, Germany etc.
Prizes, awards: Three-Star Order (Official Latvian award, 2006), Annual award for the best exhibition at the museum (Rīga, 2002), a prize in the contest exhibition „Rīgas Jūgends” (Rīga, 2000) etc.
